In Romans 12:11, we read:
Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
(Romans 12:11)
What does that mean?
Well, I really like how the Berean Standard Bible (BSB) puts this verse:
Do not let your zeal subside; keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
(Romans 12:11 BSB)
But how does one keep their spiritual fervor and love for the Lord Jesus Christ?
Well, in today’s blog post, I’d like to share three simple, yet powerful prayers to help you practically maintain your love and fervor for Jesus from going cold.
Prayer #1
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
(Romans 5:5)
Dear Lord, I claim Your promise in Romans 5:5 today. Please send Your Holy Spirit to fill my heart with more love for You.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
Prayer #2
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
(1 John 2:15)
Dear Heavenly Father, You said in 1 John 2:15 that Your love is not in anyone who loves the world. So I pray today that You will cleanse my heart and mind from all love for this world. I fully surrender my worldly love for ______ today to You.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
Prayer #3
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
(2 Thessalonians 2:10)
Dear God, You warned in 2 Thessalonians 2:10 that it’s those who didn’t receive the love of the truth who became unsaved. So Father, I humbly pray You will please give me a love for truth. I open up my heart to receive a deeper measure of Your love for more of Your truth. Please take away my stony heart and give in its place a heart of flesh that loves Your truth more than anything else.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
Amen! Maranatha!
????
Thanks you Aleah!
I pray that we all will set our minds on Christ, not on Earthly things. And that our love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment so that we may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ. Philippians 1:10
God Bless you!
Praise the Lord JoyBaker! Amen! Love the verse! ???
