How To Turn Your Hobby Into A Ministry (Pt. 2)

Today we’re gonna move on to Part 2 of our series on how to turn a particular hobby into a ministry.

So, anyway, let’s continue to dig deeper into two more biblical keys to practically transform a hobby into a ministry.

What a glue tape runner for cardmaking looks like

There was just one problem.

I didn’t have a glue tape runner.

So, I humbly prayed and asked God to provide me with the glue tape runner that I needed, and I humbly chose to trust Him to provide one for me if it was His will.

Well, a few days after I prayed that prayer, I went to the store with my family.

While there, I came across not one, but TWO glue tape runners for my cardmaking ministry!

It was like God at that time had provided me with just what I needed after I chose to entrust my needs into His hands!

The glue tape runners God provided for me

I’m sharing this story to illustrate that in order for us to truly transform our personal hobbies into Christ-centered ministries, we must TRUST in God to provide for our humble ministry needs.

And as I shared in my little testimony, God WILL provide as we prayerfully surrender to HIS leading as we turn our hobbies into God-honoring ministries.

Tip #4: Obey

I once heard one godly ministry leader say that “the blessing is on the go.”

In other words, God will give us the blessings we’re looking for IF we only move forward in faith according to His direction and guidance.

It’s like how the book of Hebrews illustrates it in Hebrews 11:

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

(Hebrews 11:8)

How does all this apply to what we’ve been learning together?

When we pray to the Lord for His will concerning turning a hobby into a ministry, surrender that ministry to His ownership, and entrust Him to supply for our ministry’s needs; we then need to take the step of obedience.

The step of faithfully and obediently moving forward in God’s call for us to bless others and share His love through ministry.

Conclusion

Friend, it’s my hope and prayer that as you begin to take these tips to heart, God will richly fulfill this beautiful Bible promise in Isaiah 48:17.

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer,
The Holy One of Israel:
“I am the Lord your God,
Who teaches you to profit,
Who leads you by the way you should go.

(Isaiah 48:17)

Amen! Maranatha!
