I’d like to start off this blog post with two Bible verses:
As a Christian blogger, I’ve experienced many blessings working for God and working with God to gather in souls for His Kingdom as I wrote blog posts and created resources.
But the full impact of blessings I’ve experienced while working with Jesus and working for Jesus didn’t strike deep into my soul until I got a rather quirky email advertisement.
The Better VIP Membership
One day, I saw this email advertisement pop up in my inbox advertising a 97% off sale on a VIP membership program for online entrepreneurs.
The person who was offering the advertisement’s sale was named Avis*. In the ad, she gave practically 5 reasons why someone like me should seriously consider taking advantage of this 97% off VIP membership sale:
- You never know what to post
- You are always lacking the time to get it all done
- You’re frequently feeling overwhelmed
- You’re forgetting or not even coming up with new ideas
- You’re creatively drained and actively looking for help
As I skimmed over the reasons Avis gave on why this VIP membership would be so helpful for me and my “online business,” my heart was flooded with a convicting realization that, as a Christian blogger, I never really experienced these 5 reasons!
Why?
The Bible verses I mentioned in the beginning of this post give the reason why:
When we work with Christ, we are part of a VIP Membership that SUPERSEDES ANY VIP membership group this world tries to offer us!
I’m talking about the VIP Membership of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and all the ministering angels of Heaven who are by our side to lead, guide, and help us as we humbly do our part to build the Kingdom of Heaven!
So, in this blog post, I’d like to share 5 beautiful truths that I myself have experienced as a co-laborer with Christ, and compare each of these 5 truths with the 5 reasons from that VIP membership advertisement.
Let’s get started!
Beautiful Truth #1- God Knows What To Post
The first reason this advertisement gave on why I should take the VIP membership was:
“You never know what to post.”
I’d like to share two quick stories of how God beautifully lifted me above such situations.
One was when I woke up one Wednesday morning with this thought echoing in my head:
“One chose to be a king. The other chose to serve the King. Which destiny will you choose?”
After playing around with this thought in my head during breakfast, what resulted later that day was the blog post Michael Jackson Or Mary Magdalene.
I truly believed Jesus was the One Who inspired me with that thought, and gave me a blog post idea to do for Learning To Live!
The second story was when I was studying over the book of Isaiah for my personal devotions. After going over in my devotional journal of what I’ve been learning from Isaiah, an idea came to me to somehow format my personal devotional studies on Isaiah into a blog post.
The next thing I knew, I ended up with the blog post 4 Signs That Show You’re A Fake Christian, that was totally based off of what I learned and wrote about from my devotional studies on Isaiah!
And again, both of these experiences came about when I simply chose to work WITH Jesus by my side!
And still today, I see God just leading me to so many blog post ideas!
As Christians who work with God, we have NOTHING to worry about or stress over when it comes to what we should post or write or do! Because we can easily just pray and ask God to take the lead on those things! We can pray and allow the Holy Spirit to open our eyes and ears to see and listen to Jesus’ advice for us on what we should do!
It reminds me of a sobering Bible verse in Isaiah:
Let’s learn to work and cooperate with Christ and follow His counsel!
Believe me, it will all surely pay off in the end!
Beautiful Truth #2- God Knows Your Time
The second reason that Avis gave for her VIP membership advertisement was:
“You are always lacking the time to get it all done.”
When I first saw this second reason, I remembered something I learned during the online 2020 Set Apart Girl Conference, and have now been implementing it into my daily schedule as a blogger.
What was it that I learned?
Quite simply, the lesson of surrendering my schedule to God everyday.
When I surrender my schedule, my day, and my plans to Christ, He ALWAYS blesses me with enough time to finish what HE wants me to finish each day!
It reminds me of a little experience I had recently.
So, for the post I did on Felix, I concluded that blog post with a printable worksheet.
But there was just one problem.
I DID NOT have the worksheet! In fact, it wasn’t even created yet!
But instead of stressing over it, I simply surrendered the whole situation to God and asked Him to help me with making the worksheet, if it was His will.
After dinner that evening, I realized that I had enough time and strength to begin writing up the worksheet for the Felix post! The next thing I knew, God helped me put together a beautiful 7 page worksheet just before the Felix blog post was supposed to be published!
Isn’t it powerful to see the results of allowing Jesus to take hold of your time and to cooperate with Him by surrendering your whole schedules and plans to Him?
This all reminds me of a beautiful Bible promise:
Beautiful Truth #3- God Gives Peace
Reason #3 from this advertisement’s VIP membership sale was:
“You’re frequently feeling overwhelmed.”
To be honest, there are occasions where I do feel overwhelmed in the midst of my Christian blogging journey.
However, I’ve learned–from experience–the secret to truly deal with overwhelm as a Christian blogger.
What’s the secret?
It’s simple.
I surrender my overwhelmed feelings to Jesus, and pray for Him to fill me with His peace.
There have been many times where I’d countlessly surrender my overwhelmed feelings to God, and trust Him to fill me with peace and love to keep on blogging.
And believe me, friends, He has always come through.
It’s like how one of my favorite Bible promises put it:
When feeling overwhelmed, God offers freely to us His peace if we come to Him and surrender to Him our overwhelming burdens. Believe me, I’ve experienced this so many times that overwhelm no longer really bothers my heart anymore!
Beautiful Truth #4- God Gives Ideas
The fourth reason that Avis gave for her VIP membership advertisement was:
“You’re forgetting or not even coming up with new ideas.“
Again, as I mentioned on #1 of this blog post, I’ve experienced so many times God giving me idea after idea of what to post.
In fact, God even provided me with a notebook to record all kinds of blog post ideas and resource ideas that pop up in my head only a few months before I realized my need of such a notebook!
Beautiful Truth #5- God is Your Strength & Your Help
The fifth and final reason from this VIP membership email advertisement stated:
“You’re creatively drained and actively looking for help.“
What came to my mind when I saw this fifth reason was a Bible promise in Ezekiel 37:
Whenever I am in need of strength, energy, and help whenever I’m doing something (blogging, writing, whatever), this Bible promise, Ezekiel 37:12-14, is where I turn to and claim.
And, dear reader, without fail, God would follow through and energize me with the power of His Spirit to keep doing what I’m doing, and every drained emotion in my being would vanish!
That’s the power of allowing God’s promises to take control of you; they give you power to move forward in Christ’s work and service!
An Appeal & A Prayer
Dear reader, if you’ve been touched by these 5 beautiful truths, and desire to truly surrender every bit of your Christian service to God’s control, and learn to humbly work WITH Jesus instead of just for Jesus, I wanna appeal to you to just pray:
Amen! Maranatha!
