In Part 1 of this blog post series, we looked into the newly upcoming Giant 2021 Statue, and filtered two of its primary purposes through the lens of the Bible.
Now, let’s look into two more spiritual issues with the 2021 Giant Statue based on two Bible verses in Habakkuk chapter 2!
For Starters…
Before we dive into today’s post, I’d like for us to watch this short, 5 minute video clip. This video clip is the official trailer for the 2021 Giant Statue.
False Wisdom
What really stood out to me from this video was the part where the narrator said that the Giant 2021 Statue is able to speak “words of wisdom to the crowds below.”
Could there be any spiritual dangers with this?
Let’s see what Habakkuk 2:18 has to say about this.
What does that verse mean? How does it apply to any sort of spiritual problem with this Giant 2021 Statue?
I believe the EXB Bible version gives a clearer picture of what Habakkuk 2:18 has to do with the 2021 Giant Statue:
Remember how I mentioned earlier about how this Giant 2021 Statue is said to be able to speak “words of wisdom?”
Well, according to Habakkuk 2:18, it COULD likely be that some of the “words of wisdom” the Giant 2021 Statue is gonna say are really LIES.
Besides, in James 3:14-15, we’re given this description of false, demonic wisdom:
Could these verses describe the “words of wisdom” that the Giant 2021 Statue will speak? Words of “wisdom” that really lies and boasts against Bible truth?
False Breath
In another part of the video, the narrator mentions that the Giant 2021 Sculpture is also supposed to be “an image to human potential.”
Speaking of which, Paddy Dunning (the CEO behind this Giant 2021 Statue project) said in one TV news interview that one of the very purposes of the statue is “to inspire people to reach their full potential.”
This leads me to the next spiritual problem with the Giant 2021 Statue.
In Habakkuk 2:19, we read:
It’s interesting to note that the word “inspire” (the very word that the creators of the Giant 2021 Statue are using to describe one of its main purposes) comes from the Latin word inspirare which means “breathe upon.”
So, it’s almost as if this Giant 2021 Statue is being depicted as some sort of “breath” to energize people to–as the Giant’s architects put it-“reach their full human potential.”
But, according to Habakkuk 2:19, statues like this have NO breath, NO true Biblical inspiration at all!
Where To Find Real Wisdom & Real Breath
Friends, this world is trying to directs us to find wisdom and inspiration from things like the Giant 2021 Statue.
But for us Christians, our only TRUE source for real, life-giving wisdom and breath is only found in Jehovah!
Look at what these Bible verses have to say about this key truth:
A Prayer
Dear reader, would you like to exchange the false wisdom and the false breath of this world for the true wisdom and true breath of the Lord God Almighty?
If so, then I wanna encourage you to pray:
