God Used WHO To Answer My Prayers?! ~A Testimony

It was 3 A.M. in the morning when it all started. My neighbors were outside badly arguing and fighting.

After enduring what felt like hours of screams, yells, and swear words flying around, I finally lifted up my heart to God in silent prayer.

Dear Lord, I prayed. Please send Your Holy Spirit to calm down my neighbors. Please cause them to calm down and stop arguing, I pray, so I can have a good night sleep–

The sound of Mr. Biagio’s* car driving in from work interrupted my prayer.

Oh no, I thought. Things are just gonna get worst now.

Knowing full well of Mr. Biagio’s hot-headed and pugnacious personality, I couldn’t help but pray harder for the neighbors outside to stop arguing!

And then something crazy happened.

Mr. Biagio Steps In…

Hearing the sound of Mr. Biagio’s car pull in made me firmly believe the neighbors’ arguments were gonna go from bad to worst!

The door of Mr. Biagio’s car swung open, followed by what sounded like an anger-induced slam of his car door.

Here it comes, I thought. He’s gonna swear and yell so hard at the neighbors I’m sure the moon will blush pink.

I heard Mr. Biagio shuffle his way to where the neighbors were arguing outside.

And then……

In a voice so strangely calm, I heard Mr. Biagio say,

“Hey, it’s late out here, guys. Could you please stop arguing? My family and all the rest of us here are trying to get a good night’s rest.”

After what sounded like some calm, quiet mumbles, Mr. Biagio yelled,

“Good night, neighbors!”

“Good night!”

And soon after that, a peaceful silence crept back into our neighborhood.

And it was all because God answered my prayer through the unlikeliest individual imaginable.

A Lesson Behind The Story

In 1 Corinthians 1:27, we read:

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

(1 corinthians 1:27)

Just like God used Mr. Biagio to answer my prayers–even though it seemed foolish to me at first–God desires to use you!

No matter who you are, God wants to use you to be an answer to someone’s prayers; even if you feel like the most foolish and unlikeliest candidate!

Believe me, if God can use someone like Mr. Biagio, He can use you! In fact, God WANTS to use you, dear reader!

Would you like to accept that call from God today, and allow Him to use you as an unexpected answer to some soul’s prayers?

If so, I wanna encourage you to simply pray:

I’d like to conclude this blog post with a beautiful and inspiring statement from my favorite author, Ellen White, that I hope and pray will encourage you to allow God to truly use you in unexpected and impactful ways for His Kingdom:

All over the world men and women are looking wistfully to heaven. Prayers and tears and inquiries go up from souls longing for light, for grace, for the Holy Spirit. Many are on the verge of the kingdom, waiting only to be gathered in.

(Evangelism pg. 292 paragraph 2)

Amen! Maranatha!
