Today we’re gonna dive into a little series on using audible resources to help us better cultivate our relationship with the Lord.
For Part 1 of this series, I’d like to share how listening to dramatized audio Scripture has enhanced my own personal devotional time in three powerful ways in hopes that this will inspire you to probably begin incorporating audio Scripture into your personal devotional time.
1. Dramatized Audio Scripture Made The Bible Come To Life As I Read It
One of the first ways that listening to dramatized audio Scripture has really helped enhance my personal devotions is that when I’d listen to the dramatized words of Scripture while reading them in my Bible, the whole thing just helps makes the Bible become more alive to me.
Whether it’s reading Psalm 18 and hearing the valiant voice of David praising the Lord for giving him victory over his enemies, or reading Matthew 27 and hearing the heartbreaking last words of Jesus on the cross, dramatized audio Scripture really brought on a dynamic to my devotional time that made the Bible more engaging.
And as a result, it made it easier for me to really pay more attention to what God wanted to teach me through those Scripture passages.
And speaking of paying more attention, this now leads me to the second aspect of how dramatized audio Scripture helped enhance my devotional time.
2. Dramatized Audio Scripture Helped Me Pay More Attention To What I’m Reading In God’s Word
One of the annoying things I’ve struggled with when reading my Bible is my messy thoughts.
I’d be trying to read some Scripture passage, and then my thoughts would either:
A. Focus on the passage
B. Wander off to La La Land
C. Take a high-speed jet ride to La La Land
But when I simply surrendered my mind fully to the Holy Spirit’s control, and get my ears plugged into some dramatized audio Scripture, it’s much easier to focus on what I’m reading in the Bible and not get distracted by my silly thoughts!
3. Dramatized Audio Scripture Made Me Look More Forward To My Devotions
I’ll be honest.
There have been times in my life where I don’t always feel motivated to read my Bible and do my devotions.
But when I started incorporating audio Scripture into my Bible reading for my devotions, I’m now more motivated, excited, and interested in getting into God’s Word!
Because, as mentioned previously, the audio Scripture just helps makes it all come alive!
Which Audio Scripture App Should I Use?
Audio Scripture comes in many shapes, sizes, and forms.
And, I get it, it can become easily overwhelming to know which one to use.
So, be sure to stay tuned for next week where I’m gonna review THREE Scripture audio apps to help you pick out the best one for you!
Be sure to stay tuned!
