Whether you know it or not, this March is National Nutrition Month!
So, here at Learning To Live, there’s gonna be content rolling out centered on–not physical nutrition, but rather–SPIRITUAL nutrition!
Let’s dive in!
In John 17:3, we read:
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
(John 17:3)
I like how The Clear Word Bible puts it:
And this is eternal life, to know you, the only true God, and to accept Jesus Christ as the One you have sent.
(John 17:3 TCW)
So, knowing God brings LIFE!
Knowing God brings vitality, nourishment, and nutrition to the soul!
And in this blog post, I’d like to share how personally knowing God has brought deep nutrition and life-giving nourishment to my heart!
Surrender
One of the ways knowing God has been of nutritional value to me is that it has helped me to better surrender to Him.
As I get to know God better, the easier it is to surrender to Him and to trust Him with the rest of my story.
Because, after all, how can you surrender to and trust in someone you don’t know?
God’s Word
In Matthew 4:4, Jesus said:
It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
(Matthew 4:4)
As I get to know the Lord, especially through His Holy Word, I find so much nutrition in feasting on His promises, claiming them in prayer, and experiencing God fulfill those very promises in my own life!
Prayer
Speaking of prayer, this now leads me to the third and final aspect of how knowing God has brought nutrition to my soul!
When I pray to the Lord, and pour out my problems and struggles before His throne, there’s always a nourishing peace He sheds into my heart that brings so much spiritual nutrition to me.
It reminds me of one of my favorite Bible verses:
Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us.
(Psalm 62:8)
What About You?
Dear reader, do you desire to know God and experience the spiritual nutrition that comes from knowing Him?
If so, then I wanna encourage you to simply pray:
I wanna conclude this blog post with two things.
One is a Bible promise you may claim along with the above prayer:
Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
(Psalm 86:11)
Secondly, I would like to share a FREE Bible Study Guide that can help you get to know God better:
Amen! Maranatha!
