During my morning quiet time one day, I was going over the book of Isaiah. On that particular day, I was reading chapter 42, and verse 22 caught my attention. But, to be more specific, there was one particular part of verse 22 that really caught my attention:
Whoah!
How in the world can people hide in PRISON HOUSES?!
Can you imagine doing something like that?
HIDING in JAIL!?!?
Two Hiding Places
As I was studying that part of the verse, I couldn’t help but see that as a stark contrast to two beautiful Bible promises in Psalms:
How does this all apply to us?
What does this all mean?
Where Are You Hiding?
Friends, right now this world is facing some pretty scary and uncertain times.
And, it’s easy for us to want to run and hide somewhere for safety.
But friend, I wanna ask you this one simple question:
Where Are You Hiding?
Where are you running to for shelter?
Is it the hiding place of God’s presence?
Or, are you running to and hiding in some prison house of sin?
Are you hiding in the caring arms of Jesus?
Or, are you hiding in a prison house of worldly addiction?
Friend, where is your hiding place?
Who–or what–are you turning to for shelter and safety?
Friend, where are you hiding?
A Prayer To Hide In The Right Place!
Dear friend, do you desire to stop hiding in the worldly prison houses of sin and addiction, and start hiding in the presence of Christ?
If so, I wanna encourage you to simply pray:
I’d like to conclude this blog post with the lyrics of one of my favorite hymns. It’s my hope and prayer that, as you read these lyrics, you’ll be refreshed with encouragement to truly hide in the best Hiding Place we as Christians have the blessed privilege to hide in–the presence of God Almighty!
"He Hideth My Soul" | Christian Hymn by Fanny Crosby
A wonderful saviour is Jesus my Lord
A wonderful Saviour to me
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock
Where rivers of pleasure I see
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock
That shadows a dry, thirsty land
He hideth my life in the depths of his love
And covers me there with his hand
And covers me there with his hand
A wonderful Saviour is Jesus my Lord
He taketh my burden a-way
He holdeth me up and I shall not be moved
He giveth me strength as my day
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock
That shadows a dry, thirsty land
He hideth my life in the depths of his love
And covers me there with his hand
And covers me there with his hand
When clothed in His brightness
Transported I rise
To meet Him in Clouds of the sky
His perfect salvation, His wonderful love
I'll shout with the millions on high
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock
That shadows a dry, thirsty land
He hideth my life in the depths of his love
And covers me there with his hand
And covers me there with his hand
Amen! Maranatha!
