As Christians living in a busy, fast-paced world, it’s fairly easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of it all. In fact, it’s so easy to become so wrapped in all the busyness of this world that we as Christians end up tossing things like ministry and mission into the back closet of our hearts and minds.
But is that what Jesus wanted His followers to be like?
To become TOO BUSY to serve Him in ministry and mission?
If that’s true, how do we reconcile that with Christ’s words in Matthew chapter 5?
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16
Either the problem is with this Bible verse, or the problem is simply us and our dead desire to serve God in ministry and mission.
I believe the problem is the latter.
How?

So, since the issue is–obviously–us and our loss of zealous devotion to serve God in ministry and mission, HOW do we get out of it? HOW do we awaken ourselves from this cold sleep of doing more for this temporal world and less for eternity?
