Letters From My Heart Series

Letters From My Heart {Pt. 1: Evey}

Just a quick note about this new series. The addressees in the “letters” do exist in real life. However, their names have been changed for privacy reasons. Also, certain dynamics of the situations that I address in certain “letters” have also been changed to protect their identities and reputations.
It’s my hope and prayer that, as you read each “letter” in this 10 part series, you’ll gain some blessing and encouragement from each “letter”, and that the Holy Spirit will speak to your heart as you read. Thank you and God bless!

Dear Evey,
You’re such a big blessing to me! I have a firm belief God is gonna use you in a mighty way to bless others and point people to Him!

In fact, God is already using you!

It simply brings joy to my heart to see your willingness to help around the church, especially during the clean-up time after potluck.

But Evey, I know this dark world is gonna try to spoil that sweet helpful spirit within you with all its ugly lies. These lies are originally from Satan, and the world will try to cram these lies into your heart and mind as you grow older.

But there’s no need to worry over that, dear Evey! As Bible believing Christians, we have GOD on our side!

In Psalm 139:5, we have this assuring promise:

You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.

(Psalm 139:5)

And another promise also in Psalms:

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
(Psalm 118:6)

God has hedged us up and will be by our side to protect us from the lies of the world and of the devil. It is His love that protects us from these things, dear Evey. There’s no need to worry!

But, Evey, this protective hedge of love isn’t around everyone. The Bible says so in Proverbs chapter 30 verse 5:

Every word of God is pure;
He
is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
(Proverbs 30:5)

You must learn to trust God, to make Him your Best Friend. In 1 Samuel 2:30 that God honors those who honor Him.

…..for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.
(1 Samuel 2:30)

When you honor God by putting Him first in your life, making Him your Best Friend, and spending time with Him every day, He’ll honor you in return by providing you protection and other blessings!

But this doesn’t mean you’ll have a perfect life with no troubles. Oh no! That’s certainly not what I mean here, Evey!

Jesus said in John 16:33 that in this world we will have troubles. But in that same verse, we can have peace in Jesus even in the midst of troubles.

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
(John 16:33)

But for now, Evey, you’re still young. The way before you is bright as long as you continue to let God use you, let God lead you, and let God hold you tightly in His arms of peaceful love.

Continue to do what you’re doing right now at church. And it’s my prayer that the light you’re shining right now will grow brighter and brighter as you grow up to be the girl God wants you to be!

Big Hugs,
