To conclude this series on how to incorporate audio into our Bible devotions, we will be looking into Scripture songs and how to utilize them in our Christian lives.
What Are Scripture Songs?
Simply put, Scripture songs are basically portions of Scripture set to music.
There’s all kinds of Scripture songs out there…from ones with only one Bible verse set to music to whole Bible chapters!
How Can I Use Scripture Songs in my Christian Life?
One of the biggest (and most fun) ways to utilize Scripture songs is by using them as a tool to better memorize Bible verses!
I’ve noticed that in my own life, memorizing Scripture through song really helps me to implant particular Bible passages into my mind and to better recall them later on.
This is especially helpful to hide God’s Word in our hearts, that we may gain victory over sin (see Psalm 119:11).
What Kind of Scripture Songs Should I Use?
There’s quite a variety of Scripture songs out there…most of them being more targeted to young kids.
But for me, personally, I’ve REALLY enjoyed the Scripture songs from Malaysian Christian artist, Esther Mui.
Below are some of my favorite Scripture songs from her:
Another Scripture song artist that I’ve also been greatly enjoying is Ricky Carter from Hide It In Your Heart.
Here are some of the Scripture songs that I really enjoyed from him:
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
(Colossians 3:16)
Amen! Maranatha!
