Letters From My Heart Series

Letters From My Heart {Pt. 9: Crystal}

Just a quick note about this new series. The addressees in the “letters” do exist in real life. However, their names have been changed for privacy reasons. Also, certain dynamics of the situations that I address in certain “letters” have also been changed to protect their identities and reputations.
It’s my hope and prayer that, as you read each “letter” in this 10 part series, you’ll gain some blessing and encouragement from each “letter”, and that the Holy Spirit will speak to your heart as you read. Thank you and God bless!

Dear Crystal,

I’m sorry to hear that you feel lonely. I personally understand how that’s like. Loneliness is the darkest pit you could ever be in.

But Crystal, I want to share you with some encouraging Bible promises that have personally blessed me whenever I felt lonely.

Here’s one of them:

I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

(John 14:18)

This is Jesus speaking in this verse. Here in John 14:18, Jesus promises to not leave us as abandoned orphans. Instead, He promises to come to us and comfort us with His love. Even if nobody comes to you as a friend, Crystal, just remember that Jesus Himself will ALWAYS come to you, if you simply let Him come.

Another Bible promise that has personally comforted me when I felt lonely is also in the book of John.

Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.

(John 16:32)

I’d like to share with you, Crystal, the personal note I wrote in my Bible’s margin concerning this verse. I wrote:

“Even though Jesus’ friends abandoned Him, He knew He wasn’t alone because God was [with] Him. Even in the darkest [hour] of His life.”

Isn’t it comforting, Crystal, to know that you were never alone? Isn’t it comforting to realize that God always has and always will be with you–even during your darkest and lowest moments?

Not only that, but Jesus Himself was also left alone by His own friends. Jesus understands your loneliness. In fact, the third Bible promise I wanna share with you that expounds on that:

He is despised and rejected by men,

A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.

And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;

He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

(Isaiah 53:3)

Crystal, Jesus understands what it’s like to be rejected. He has known the sorrows of being left out by others.

Jesus understands the loneliness, rejection, and sadness you’re going through.
Please remember that Jesus knows and understands.

Here’s one last Bible promise I wanna share with you.

And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.

(Deuteronomy 31:8)

God promised to never leave you nor forsake you. Jesus promised to always come to you and be with you.

Now, Crystal, I wanna appeal to you to turn your eyes from the loneliness you’re in and look up at Jesus, the one Friend you can truly count on. He has and always will be right there to give you comfort and love.

Crystal, will you accept the comforting, loving friendship He desires to have with you? God saw you and the rest of mankind to be the best thing to die for. Will you make that same loving God your best Friend?

I pray you will! Because, believe me, from personal experience, it’s the best decision you could ever make!

Your Friend,
Aleah R.
