“Let Your Word” | A Poem Prayer

This poem prayer was inspired by a verse I read one time for my evening devotions. It’s in Jeremiah 23:29–

“Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord,
“And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
–(Jeremiah 23:29)

Wow! As I thought over that verse, I realized that God’s Word is so much more than just a Book. It’s a total Heart-Changer!

I pray you’ll be blessed by the poem prayer below!

Let Your Word

Let Your Word, dear Father
Burn like a fire–
Kindling within me
A flaming desire
To serve You alone
And bring glory to Your name;
To honor You in every part of my life
With heartfelt love and praise.

Let Your Word, dear God
Pound away like a hammer–
Shattering my rocky heart
So filled with sinful desire.
Just so my whole soul
May worship You fully,
Not with any sinful intent;
But rather with pure and loving sincerity.

Lord, it’s my prayer,
As I bow before Your throne–
That You’ll let Your Word
Burn me
Break me
To be wholly Your own.
Amen!
